TBW Solutions Creates Fifty Green Collar Jobs in

TBW Solutions announced today that it has hired, trained
and deployed fifty (50) Smart Meter installation technicians in Broward and
Dade counties in support of Florida Power & Light (FPL) smart grid initiative
called Energy Smart Miami. The project involves the installation of over 1.0
million GE Smart Meters and associated network collectors throughout the

stimulus funds is to create green collar jobs in the local community where the

Selected applicants are put through an intensive and rigorous
multi-week training program involving technical, safety and life skills
classroom training, field training and job shadowing. During field training, each
recruit's work is closely scrutinized via intensive quality and safety audits
and retraining is provided where necessary.
The success of the program is self-evident. In a little over three
months, TBW Solutions has successfully changed out over 100,000 meters
utilizing its newly minted project work force that reflects the diverse
make-up of the communities in which it is working. "We have been able to
recruit, hire, train and deploy a great project team," stated Mr.
Strickland. "Many of the
individuals we hired, through no fault of their own, were either unemployed or
chronically under-employed. It’s good to get a project off to a smooth start,
but its even better knowing that individuals working on the project are members
of the local community and are receiving training they can use the rest of
their lives. Creating green jobs in the local community - now that truly is a
great feeling."
